Java IO unable to identify exact string due to encoding ,Special character converting to html4 entity

I have have XML whose nodes id i.e St.+John's+Red+Storm+3 and 6x9-heat-resistant-window-p&s-envelopes. if you open this xml in notepad and textpad its show exactly &#X.

I want to replace special character Ids in xml. But my java IO code(encoding UTF-8) it read these ids like 6x9-heat-resistant-window-p&s-envelopes and St.+John's+Red+Storm+3

Due to that it not able to exact match "St.+John's+Red+Storm+3".
