Android: Sending a background email (with attachment) - security questions

So my first question is does anyone have a good source for sending a background email on android, with attachments? Preferably with no additional libraries.

The second one is in regards to solutions supplied in this question.

Most solutions seem to have the server, name and password added statically. I am just wondering if there are any security issues in adding this information to an application.
